Joe Ryan McBroom was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, on June 8, 1957 and passed on Friday,  March 15, 2024. He was sixty six years old.

Born to Jimmie Sue and Edward Ray McBroom, he and his family moved to Albuquerque when Joe was three years old. He was raised with three older brothers and two younger sisters.

Joe loved a good debate and enjoyed playing his guitars, especially in church, at the rescue mission and at YDDC. He also enjoyed going fishing with his sons and bringing his dogs along, which would sometimes get him in trouble.

Joe graduated from Del Norte High School and got a job at Kaman Bearing and then bought a piece of property. He moved his grandmother's trailer there and hired someone to add adobes to surround it, and started adding rooms. He then had the trailer removed, with the help of his wife and sons. He worked on the house with dedication, and there is not another like it. Joe did a lot to it to make our house a home. Joe also worked at Hopper Specialties and then decided to start his own business, named Industrial Parts and Supply. He enjoyed taking care of his customers and knew a great deal about that kind of business. From there he worked for IMSCO where he retired in August 2018.

Joe was preceded in death by his dad, Edward Ray McBroom; his mama, Jimmie Sue Swartwood; his step-dad, Robert Swartwood; his brother, Jessee McBroom and by his sister-in-law, KC McBroom.

Joe is survived by his wife of forty years, Theresa McBroom; his three sons, Joseph, James, and Joshua McBroom; his two grandchildren, Kayliah and Jaydon McBroom; his brothers, Jimmy and John McBroom (Jeanette); his sisters, Jana Martinez (Edy) and Joyce Buxton (Keith); six nephews and three nieces.

Joe loved his sons dearly, even though at times it was hard for him to express his love for them.

We love you, Joe, and we will always miss you! We have an emptiness that only you could fill.

A private ceremony will be held in his honor.
