Joan Linda Romero, born on July 2, 1949, in La Junta, Colorado, passed away on May 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a spirited and vibrant woman whose sense of humor, laughter, and generosity touched everyone who knew her.

Joan was deeply devoted to her family.    She took immense pride and joy in her dog Chloe, Her children Frank(Lee), Carlos(Linda), Nick(Linda) and Linda), grandchildren Amanda(Reese), David(Tiffany), Jasper,  Robyn(Johnny), Jessica(Manuel), Raven, Antonia(Diego),  Ashley, Joseph, Frankie, Kiesha, Leandro, Leann(Ted), Anthony(Courtney), Crystal, Chiara, Diego and McKayla,) and great grandchildren ( Penelope, Arabella, Scarlett, Mateo, David Jr, Jeremy JR, Nathaniel, Rio, Layla, Autumn, June and Maliki) who were the light of her life. She is also survived by along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 36 years, Manuel Romero JR; her son, Manual Romero III and grandson Manual Romero IV.  Her sisters Irene, Josie, Doris and her brothers Bobby, Lencho, and her parents, Julia and Juan Medina.

Joan lived life with passion and joy. She loved the Denver Broncos, making her delicious red chili for her family, dancing, music, crocheting, and bringing her family together for fun and celebration.

Her legacy is one of love, strength, and compassion. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, Rosary -8:00 and mass 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church with reception in the church hall immediately following located at 562 Atrisco RD SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
