Jimmy Vance, 64, of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023.  Jimmy was born on June 3, 1959 to Sammy Vance and Faye Brown in Artesia, New Mexico.

Jimmy Graduated from the New Mexico State Police 38th Recruit School, worked for Lea County Sheriffs Office and the Hedwig Village Police Department of Texas. As well, Jimmy was an avid dog rescuer.

He is survived by his dad, Bill Brown of Hobbs; son, Justin Ping of Denver, Colorado; brothers and sister,  Jerald Vance (Maud) of Roswell, Kelly Brown (Kim) of Hobbs, Telisha Watson of Hobbs and David Brown of Albuquerque; nieces and nephews, Kami Bryant of Carlsbad, Jessica Ort (Jacob) of Lovington, James Vance (Lan) of Denver, Matt Brown (Mayra) of Hobbs, Rebecca Price (Anthony) of Amarillo, Kaira Vance of Roswell, Praxi Brown, Tristynn Brown and Eli Brown all of Lovington; great nieces and nephews,   Lukas Ort and Alexis Ort of Lovington, Charlotte Brown and Bodie Brown of Hobbs, Ryder Price of Amarillo; as well as other family members and dear friends who loved and will miss him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his very special Great Granny Barnett; grandparents, George and Gladys Barnett (Mamaw & Papaw) his aunt, Glenda Ryan and by his mom, Faye Brown.

Cremation has taken place through Direct Funeral Services of Albuquerque.  Services will be held at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs New Mexico on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:00 am. Honorary pallbearers will be John Deming, Rick Durham, Jim Woods, Matt Brown, Kelly Brown, Jerald Vance and David Brown.
