In Loving Memory of

Jane Moore Holloman

November 2, 1930 – August 3, 2025

Born at home near Powellsville, North Carolina, on November 2, 1930, Jane was the third of six surviving children of John Raynor and Gladiola Parker Moore.

Jane's life was marked by her independent spirit and her unwavering resolve. She always gave her best effort in every pursuit and met each challenge with determination. In December 1950, Jane married her beloved husband, Robert Abner Holloman. Soon after, he enlisted in the U.S. Army (Infantry) and was sent to Korea following his training. Jane carried on, earning her degree in nutrition from the Women's College of the University of North Carolina two years later. She then worked for several years as a dedicated dietician at Cobb Memorial Hospital in Columbus, GA, where she touched lives with her compassion and professionalism. The same was true of her numerous volunteer roles over the decades that followed, and her time in retail later in life.

One of Jane's defining principles was the importance of kindness to others. She made it a priority to thank people for even the smallest gestures, leaving everyone she met feeling appreciated. Jane was remarkably accepting—she welcomed people as they were and did her best not to judge. She was loved and respected in every community she joined.

In every situation, Jane asked herself, "How can I make this work?" Her optimistic outlook and practical problem-solving inspired those around her and offered steady support in times of need. Her ability to persevere and adapt was a source of comfort to friends and family alike.

Over the course of her life, Jane moved across many locations in the U.S. and abroad – Indiana, Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Japan, Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, Germany, Washington DC area, Alabama, and finally New Mexico, leaving behind a legacy of friendship, acceptance, and love. She volunteered her time wherever she lived, seeking to help wherever she could. As a devoted mother and family member, she created a home wherever she went—one built on understanding, gratitude, and unwavering support.

Jane navigated life with faith, humility, and a sense of humor that endeared her to all. She once remarked, "When I get up to heaven, God will say, 'She's mine. She's done some stupid things in her life, but she's mine.'"

Sadly, Jane was predeceased by her husband; by her youngest son, William Abner Holloman; sister, Julia Moore Lawrence; brothers, John Raynor Moore III and Arthur Cotton Moore and by her daughter-in-law, Karen Herink Holloman. She is survived by her sisters, Dr. Helen Zappia and Sally Koestler (Robert); her children, Robert Raynor Holloman, Harry Hunter Holloman (Marilyn Holloman) and Melissa Holloman Roberts (Thomas Patton Roberts). She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Troy Holloman(Julia Barth) and their son, Levon Barth-Holloman; Jameson Holloman (Mary Holloman) and their daughters, Emma and Audrey Holloman; Robert E. Holloman; John Holloman (Sara Holloman) and their sons William and Owen Holloman; Hal Holloman (Heather Arata) and their son Benjamin Arata Holloman; Joshua Roberts (Doreen Roberts) and their daughter Abigail Roberts; Lydia Roberts; and Edward Roberts. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service for Jane will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1:00 pm at St John's Episcopal  Church in College Park, Georgia.
