Janalie Ruth
Bright
Oct 24, 1962 — Aug 6, 2024
Albuquerque
Janalie Ruth Bright entered the kingdom of God at the age of 62 on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Janalie was born on October 24, 1962, to Bobby Ray and Margaret Ann Harrison in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as the youngest of 7 siblings, John, Dawn, Bobbie, Lelia, Bonnie and Darla. She was preceded in death by her son, James Franklin Bright III, and is survived by her spouse, Anthony Newman; her children, Joshua and Jennifer (Cody), and by her grandchildren, Audrianna, Genesis, Shay, Arya and Cali.
Janalie was most known for her faith in God and her love for her family. She was also known for her affinity to tell the truth even when the truth hurt. She was a beacon of light, faith and generosity to all who knew her. Janalie was one of the most intelligent and self-educated people you'd ever met, always saying, "If you can read, you can teach yourself to do anything." Her most proud accomplishment was being a grandmother, to which her grandchildren were her whole life.
Janalie was a walking medical miracle, struggling for many years with congestive heart failure, kidney failure, COPD, diverticulitis, diabetes, asthma, neuropathy, colon and ovarian cancer. At the age of 41, her heart was working at 5% capacity, and the doctors were not confident she had long to live. But God worked miracles like He always does, and Janalie was approached by a doctor that was visiting from a neighboring hospital, who invited her to join a clinical study that was offering the participants an experimental heart medication. The medication increased her heart to 40% working capacity. Her doctors only gave her 6 months to a year to live, and she ended up surpassing that by over 20 years, which is a testament that God's timing eclipses what is possible in this physical world.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW., on Friday, August 16, 2024. The viewing will begin at 12:30 pm. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
We thank Janalie for all the faith and love she brought to our lives, and she will be sorely missed, until we meet again.
