Obituary

Mr. James Lopez, age 62, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2021.  He was born in Las Vegas, NM on April 27, 1959, to Edwin and Martha Lopez.

James grew up in Springer, NM where he attended high school.  After finishing school, he got his CDL license and worked as a truck driver and automobile mechanic.

He enjoyed gardening, technology, gadgets, animals and his family.

He is preceded in death by a son Quintin Lopez; father Edwin Lopez; siblings Gloria Johnson and Jake Lopez.

He is survived by his son Jason Lopez; mother Martha Lopez; siblings Patrick Lopez and Virginia Strobel-Arellanes, Ami Arneault and Pat Arneault, Geno Lopez and Leia Lopez; nephews and nieces, Katrina Abraham, Emilio Lopez, Patrick Arneault, Olivia Arneault, Fame Lopez, Diego Lopez and Bear Lopez; friends Rose and Don Kuhlman, Misty Steene with Juan and Miracle.

A fond memory of Jason's is his father always singing "The Motorcycle Song" by Arlo Guthrie…..

I don't want a pickle,

Just want to ride on my motorcycle

And I don't want a tickle,

Cause' I'd rather ride my motorcycle

And I don't want to die,

I just want to ride my motorcycle.

A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara Catholic Church, 501 Nolan St., Wagon Wound, NM 87752.   Reception to immediately follow at the parish hall.
