James S. Baird was born July 29, 1947. He passed away peacefully, at home, on Saturday,  December 2, 2023 surrounded by loving family.

After retiring from the Albuquerque Police Department, Jim continued working for the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department.   Jim enjoyed working, he was a people person and was always willing to help.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Baird; granddaughter, Anndrea Pieper and many family members.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jim's life on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church (562 Atrisco Drive SW).  A visitation will begin at 8:00am. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30am with funeral mass being celebrated at 9:00am.  Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery on Coors and Arenal SW.  A reception will follow interment from  12:00 noon to 2:00pm at the Holy Family Catholic Church reception hall.
