Jacquline June McCurdy Trammell died peacefully on September 14, 2021 at the Morning Star Memory Care Center at North Ridge in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her son Greg and his wife Candace and their family were able to be with her. She is survived by her daughter Paula Davis of Springfield, Virginia and son Greg Trammell (Candace) of Albuquerque; and grandchildren Michelle Davis-Howe (Brian) of  Welcome, Maryland, Chloe (Mike) Plouff, Brooks, Nolan (Amanda), and Rhett Trammell, all of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren William (Virginia Tech), Paige, Boone and Beau (Albuquerque). She had 2 brothers and 3 sisters Dean McCurdy, Ruth Branch (deceased), Hilda Martin, Harmon (Linda) McCurdy, and Elsie Milano. At an appropriate time, June will join her husband, William in their cemetery plot at the Brunson Memorial Park in Eunice, New Mexico.

June was 90 years old, born on August 19, 1931 in Vernon, Texas to Vardeman and Nettie Kile McCurdy. She was the 2 ^nd oldest of six children. Her family moved to Floyd New Mexico when she was 12. Life was pretty much a hard scrabble existence, not uncommon in those times. She married William Trammell in 1948 and had two children, Paula and Greg. William and June spent their early married years in Portales, Clovis, Lovington, Hobbs, and finally Eunice New Mexico in 1954. By this time, June had completed the requirements to become a licensed hairdresser, known then as a "beauty operator." William was a carpenter who worked construction full-time with part-time jobs on the side. The family started life in Eunice in a small trailer behind the Hinman's, then bought a small house on South Main Street. Over the course of a year, in 1958/59, William built the family home in his spare time. June first worked at the Eunice Beauty Shop on Main Street, not long after, she bought the shop and employed three other hairdressers Erma Smith, Floy Swartz, and Mildred Beach. William later built an extension onto the home and she opened June's Beauty Room which she closed after her children went to college.

She then took a secretarial job at the Methodist Church and later became manager of the Chamber of Commerce. She stopped working and was now able to enjoy life more. She attended New Mexico Jr. College and became very involved in her religion. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother always willing to lend a helping hand. She took up painting, and liked to travel, primarily with her family and to wherever Paula was living.

William retired as Maintenance Superintendent of Eunice Public Schools in 1993. June and William moved to Albuquerque at the end of 2005, where their son. Greg, and his family lived, because of William's illness. After his June 2006 death in Albuquerque, June sold the Eunice property and fully moved to Albuquerque until 2011. In the early stages of her memory loss, she moved to Maryland and lived with Paula and next to her granddaughter, Michelle. When she could no longer navigate stairs, June moved back to Albuquerque with Greg in February 2017. Within 5 months, it became evident that she needed specialized care.

June was a very likable, sociable, fun person – people enjoyed being around her. She had a great laugh. She was loved and many will miss her. She made our lives better.  Sadly, the circumstances of coronavirus pandemic limited the ability of access to her in her final months and days and for this we are sorry.
