Humberto J. Mares "Bert" passed away at the age of 66, unexpectedly on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria del Pilar Mares and is survived by his two loving daughters, which meant everything to him; Briana Jo and husband Cory Smith and  Brittany Nicole Mares along with their mother, Cynthia Mares. Also leaving behind his precious grandchildren, Keaton and Kali Smith; brothers, Ralph Mares, Henry Garcia, and his little brother, Frank Ovalle; sisters, Sookie Vizcarra, Irene Carrizosa and Vera Araguz. Bert loved all his nephews, nieces and great nieces and nephews. He was blessed to have so many friends in his life from his childhood to his friends from work that became family to him. We will all miss Bert and see him once again.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Home, 2919 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107, on Saturday, August 6, 2022. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the Rosary and prayer service will begin at 11:00 am, concluding at 12:00 noon.
