Helen
Baca
Aug 5, 1934 — May 22, 2026
Albuquerque
Helen Baca, 91, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 5, 1934, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Melesandro Padilla and Pilar Serna Padilla, Helen lived a life defined by selfless love, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to family. She spent much of her life caring for others—not only her own children, but also her beloved son Joseph and her sister Patsy. Her door and her heart were always open to those in need.
A devoted Catholic, Helen's faith was the foundation of her life. She was an active member of several ministries, including the Catholic Daughters of America. Her Bible was well-worn, her prayers were constant, and her example taught generations that family is sacred, kindness is strength, and faith carries us through life's greatest joys and challenges.
Helen is survived by her 6 children, Louise Gonzalez, Carlos Baca, Rosalie Gonzales, Joseph Baca, Andrew (Greg) Baca, Michael Baca, 23 grandchildren, more than 40 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren living testament to the love, guidance, and prayers she poured into her family. She was preceded in death by Manuel Baca, Pilar and Melesandro Padilla, Patsy Lopez, Reynalda Padilla, David Padilla, Lionel Padilla, Jacob Baca and Amanda Baca; and many other loved ones who now welcome her home into eternal peace.
Above all, Helen's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, resilience, and compassion that will continue to live on through the generations she helped shape. While her presence will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord she faithfully served throughout her life.
