Gilbert Serna passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.  He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 8, 1962, to John Serna and Mary Rose Irene Saavedra Serna.

Gilbert Honorably and proudly in the Army National Guard. He will be greatly missed.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, John Serna Sr. and by his sisters, Kathy Gutierrez and Linda Serna and by his brother, Mike Serna. Gilbert is survived by his mother, Mary Rose Irene Saavedra; sons, Gilbert Serna Jr and wife Monique and Michael Serna; daughter, Contessa Serna; grandchildren, Gilbert the 3 ^rd (King) Serna, Hunter Serna, Nevaeh Serna, Abryiana Rose Montoya and great granddaughter Ariella; brothers, John Serna and wife Monica and Robert Serna; sisters, Linda Saiz and Cora and beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved and will miss him greatly.

Memorial Services will be held at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Rod SW., on Monday, March 21, 2022. A Rosary will be recited at 10:15 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 am.

Rest in peace our dear Gilbert, we hold you close to our hearts.
