Obituary

Genevieve (Genoveva) Evangeline Logan (Medina), lovingly known as Gen or Veva, passed away on December 30, 2025, at the age of 82, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her brother, Charlie, was by her side when she passed, offering comfort and love in her final moments. Genevieve was born on May 11, 1943, in Cleveland, New Mexico, to Demetrio and Celani Medina. She was one of eleven children and the oldest daughter, a role she carried with quiet strength and responsibility throughout her life. She is survived by her siblings Antonio, Joe, Charlie, Fabby, Julia, Bertha and Margaret. She was preceded in death by her parents, Demetrio and Celani, and her brothers Richard, Felix and Frank. A lifelong lover of books, Gen was a voracious reader who initially pursued her education to become a librarian. Life soon led her down the path of motherhood, which she embraced wholeheartedly. Later in life, she built a career as a paralegal with American Home Furnishing. Gen was married twice, to Roger Mikeal and Fred Logan, and was the proud mother of two daughters, Deborah Michael and Valerie Lind, who remained devoted to her throughout her life. Gen deeply loved her dogs, and her beloved Koko will be lovingly cared for by family. Gen's legacy lives on through her four grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, Allison, and Brody, and her seven great-grandchildren, Avery, Kinsey, Asher, Hunter, Livy, Maddie and Liam, each of whom brought her great joy. Gen had a love of travel and explored Europe on multiple occasions, as well as enjoying trips to the Caribbean and Mexico. Yet, of all the places she visited, none meant more to her than time spent with her brothers, sisters, and extended family, whose company she treasured deeply. In her final years, Gen was lovingly cared for and regularly visited by her family. She was watched over with great devotion by her daughters and supported by compassionate professional caregivers, whose kindness and dedication will always be remembered with gratitude. A Celebration of Life will be held over Memorial Day weekend, May 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Access Church, 542 State Hwy 518, Mora, New Mexico. Burial in Holman and meal at the VFW in Mora will immediately follow. In accordance with her wishes, her ashes will be interred with her parents.
