Geneva "Jennie" Marquez, born February 22, 1949, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Jennie was the daughter of the late Frank and Erlinda Garcia and grew up with her loving sister, Maryann Tafoya and brother‑in‑law, Benjamin Tafoya. She held a special place in the heart of her nephew, Joshua Tafoya.

For the past 23 years, Jennie shared her life with her devoted partner, Abe Lopez, whose love and companionship brought her deep joy and comfort.

Jennie was a proud and loving mother to her three daughters, Lisa Marquez and her partner Raul Holguin, Gina Marquez and her partner Ed Yellowhair, and Gina's children, Brandon Fay, Dakota Kohler and Austin Kohler, Beverly Antionette Lucero and her husband Billy Lucero and their daughters Ashley and Hailey Lucero.

Jennie adored her grandchildren deeply, and each one brought her immeasurable pride, laughter, and purpose. Her love for them was one of the brightest parts of her life.

Jennie's life was defined by her generosity, her strength and the unwavering love she poured into her family. Her presence was a steady source of comfort, and her memory will continue to guide those who were blessed to know her.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
