Frank Rudolph
Candelaria
Sep 5, 1939 — Jun 19, 2022
Albuquerque
Frank "Poncho" Candelaria went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 18, 2022. A retired civil servant and lifelong resident of Albuquerque. Poncho was preceded in death by his beloved wife Martha R. Candelaria and his parents Carlos and Mary Candelaria of Albuquerque and brother Bill Candelaria of California.
Poncho is survived by his sister Josephine Ortiz of Tennessee, son Isaac Candelaria and wife Rachael and Isaac's two children Alex and Jasmine Candelaria, stepson Douglas Johnston and his wife Emma and their three children Douglas, Stephen and Joseph.
Poncho was a patriot and served in not only the Marines, but also the Army and Coast Guard. His last assignment with US Government as a civil servant was as an environmental specialist, specializing in transportation of hazardous materials.
As a devote Catholic, Poncho preferred the traditional Tridentine (Latin) Mass. Poncho was an avid reader of technical books and there was nothing that he couldn't fix. The kids would often say "Give it to grandpa, he can fix it" and we would often joke as a family, that all he needed was duct tape, baling wire and super glue and he could fix anything.
Please join us in celebrating the life of Frank "Poncho" Candelaria on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
