Francisco Elias Arellano (Frank), at age 82, died peacefully in his home on May 8, 2023.  Frank was born in El Paso, Texas on February 21, 1941 to Antonio Arellano and Maria Rivas and lived most of his life in Albuquerque, NM.

Frank served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963 and was active in the serving the Veteran causes throughout his life.  He was honorably discharged in 1963, attended college and began his long career and Sandia National Laboratories from 1964 to 1997.  He enjoyed an early retirement and spent his time playing golf, enjoying horse racing events and raising his pet birds.  Frank was a generous person and relished sharing meals, especially cooking breakfasts, with his daughters and his grandchildren.  He appreciated time with his youngest daughter, who affectionately called him "Pop".   Franks faith grew strong over the years and he felt very blessed for the life he lived and said he had great joy in watching his grandchildren grow.

Frank is survived by his three daughters, Maria Shelby and husband Alan of Austin, Texas, Jessica Busselle and husband Lincoln of Chandler, AZ, Janet Stage of Dallas, Texas; Five grandchildren, Lincoln P. Busselle, Alec G. Shelby, Olivia E. McCarty (Busselle), Abigail M. Busselle and Noah W. Shelby along with many friends who cared deeply for him.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria Arellano.

Per his wishes, Frank has been cremated and will be buried at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  A small service is scheduled for June 26, 2023 at 10:00 am to celebrate his life and honor his death.

The family would like to send a special Thank You to both Hospice Services at Ambercare and nurses & case managers from Giving Home Health Care.  Both provided outstanding services with kindness and compassion, while caring for our father this last year.  We appreciate you all.
