Florine Torres, 89, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Florine, known as "Grandma T," is survived by her seven children,  Alfred Romero and wife Kathy, Ramona Springer and husband Louis, Thomas Romero, Bernadette Ripley and husband Dale, Michael Romero, Dorena Torres, and Michele Narvaiz and husband Leon. Florine is also survived by her sister, Esther Avila; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Florine, a devout Catholic, was a strong woman that raised her kids on a single income for most of her life. Born in Santa Fe, she enjoyed watching telenovelas, soap operas, baseball and golf. She was also an avid gardener, with flowers and plants filling up her home. Most of all, Florine enjoyed spending time with family and hearing about their successes in life. Though she is at peace now, Florine will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

A visitation, rosary and mass will be held at Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW 87105, on Friday, April 14, 2023 beginning at 8:00 am. A reception is to follow the service from 10:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. at the church hall.
