FLOREPA (FLORA) CRUZ

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother left this earthly life to join in heaven her husband, Abel;  daughter Nancy; Son-in- law, Willy; Son Billy; parents Adelina and Ralph Gonzales; Sister Prescilla; Brothers Joe and Valentino; grand-daughters Christina, Angel and Jennifer.

She leaves behind, Daughters Betty and Cenaida (William); Son Abel (Jerri); 15 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren;  one great-great grandchild; two Brothers Ralph and Ray (Brenda); one sister Marie; and many nieces and nephews.

Flora was born on January 28, 1926 in Chacon, NM.  She Left Chacon, at the age of 19, to follow her husband to Oakland, CA when he took a job at the Naval Ship Yards.  Later they lived in Colorado and Wyoming and finally settled in Albuquerque in 1954, where she lived until her death on August 22, 2022.

Flora was a stay-at-home mom, raised her children and enjoyed her grandchildren. During her lifetime she had many interests.  She enjoyed traveling, fishing, ceramics, painting, arts and craft fairs, bingo and casinos.

The family would like to thank Corus Hospice, her Corus nurse, Victoria and Corus caregiver Terri for their devotion and care of our mother over the past 2 years.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m.at St. Therese of the Little Flower Church (300 Mildred NW).  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery (7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE).
