Obituary

"Pat" Finis R. Patrick (83), Passed away at home surrounded by family following a brief illness on Monday, July 4th 2022. He was born in Iredell, Texas to Finis and Louise Patrick. He was the oldest child of five younger siblings. He graduated from Fluvanna High School in 1957. Shortly after he proudly joined the United States Air Force where he served as a Radar Technician. During his time in the service, he was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM where he met the love of his life Claudia King. They shared a beautiful life, two wonderful children, and 62 amazing years together. The love they shared was a shining example of the true meaning of enduring love. Pat went on to become a Master Printer for local magazines throughout Albuquerque. This was a unique skill that was taught to him by his Father-in-law Hugh King. He honorably retired from this profession at the age of 62 years old. Following his retirement Pat prioritized spending time with his family and community. His passion for family and Church was unmeasurable, and our time spent together was full of many amazing adventures. He became an honorary black belt in Karate at the age of 80 years old. His family has many precious memories of camping, fishing, and traveling with him and his Scotty Trailer over the years. His special place to take the whole family was Platoro, Colorado where he requested that part of his remains be scattered in a meadow overlooking the Canejos River. He faithfully and wholeheartedly served our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the Lighthouse Baptist Church for many years. He had a personal mission to be a Soldier of Christ and better the world for his following generations, especially his great granddaughters. His passion in life was being a Papa, and he had a special place in his heart for protecting young souls. All who knew him had the honor of witnessing him spread his Christian battle plan across the country. You will never meet a more passionate, and dedicated Soldier in Christ's Christian Army. His loving heart and passion for God left a beacon of light for all in the community. The outreach of love, support, and generosity from the entire community has been overwhelming and is a debt that can never be repaid. Pat left a void in all of our hearts and will be eternally missed. One day we will meet again in Heaven and he will once again tell all his loved ones, "Get over here and hug my neck" in his Texan accent and it will be the most joyous hug Heaven has ever witnessed.  Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service for our beloved Papa at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 4001 12th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107, on Friday, July 22nd 2022, at 11:00 am with US Air Force Honors. A reception will follow the service in the attached Church hall.

The interment ceremony will be held at a later date at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
