On January 5, 2025, Eufemia Maria Portillos, with her family by her side, peacefully and quietly passed to Heaven.

Eufemia was born on September 10, 1933, in Springer, New Mexico to her mother Luisita Vigil and her father Ruben Vigil.

Eufemia loved her family.   She loved spending time with her family including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a devoted Catholic and she prayed a rosary every morning and every night.  Her favorite Saint was Saint Jude.  She always prayed to Saint Jude, and she had a Saint Jude candle lit.  She was a faithful donor to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and she loved and prayed for the sick children.  She loved to bake, and she always gave baked goods to her family, doctors and priests. She loved to watch sports and cheer on the Dallas Cowboys and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Eufemia is survived by her children and their spouses: Frank and Bao Cruz, Debi Botteron, Lois and Ralph Romero, Greg Portillos, grandchildren and their spouses: Alexia and Mark Greenwood, Adam and Victoria Cruz, Aaron and Isabel Cruz, Ashley and Dominic Ramos, great grandchildren:  Gavin, Layla, and Jillian Greenwood, Alexa and Adelynn Cruz, Grayson and Riley Ramos and numerous nieces and nephews.

To celebrate the life of Eufemia Portillos, the family invites sending memorial donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.

A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church on Friday, January 24, 2025, with the Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
