Eric Jose Valles, age 50, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was called to his eternal rest on April 25, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on December 1, 1973, to Andrew Valles and Erlinda Griego in Albuquerque, NM.  He was a cherished son, brother, father, and grandfather and uncle.

A man of profound faith and generosity, Eric lived a life marked by devotion to his family and commitment to his spiritual journey.  Eric was a devoted worshipper, finding solace in Bible study and prayer groups, welcoming the presence of the Lord into his life. He contributed to his community as a skilled interior painter, stucco and was esteemed for his work ethic in construction and roofing. His artistic soul found expression through the intricate drawings he crafted on paños.

Eric is survived by his loving mother, Erlinda Griego; his devoted sisters, Ferminna (and husband) Eric and their daughter Victoria, and Dolores; and his adoring children, Frank, Melissa (and husband Justin), Jessica, and Erica; and his treasured grandchildren, Andrew, Antonio, Justin Jr., Amora, Jazmine, and Dominic and his fiancé Diana and her kids Anthony, Andres and Mariano; great nephew Fermin Jr. and many nephews, nieces, uncles and aunties.  He is reunited in God's kingdom with his father, Andrew Valles; stepfather, Fermin Griego; brothers, Frank and Tony Valles; sister, Anna; and stepbrother, Alfred Griego.

The family invites you to pay your respects at a viewing to be held on May 11, 2024, at 9:00 to 10:00 am with a service to follow at 10:00 am at Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107, followed by a gathering at the family residence.

As we commemorate the life of Eric Jose Valles, we recall a man whose heart was as vast as his smile, and whose spirit was a beacon of creativity and kindness. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will be held in the highest regard by all who were blessed to know him.
