Emily S. Marquez, age 89, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020.  She was born on December 21, 1930 in Madrid, NM.

Emily retired from the Department of Energy, she then went to work for several years at Westland Development.  She was a proud 1948 Graduate of Albuquerque High School, she loved playing bingo, enjoyed Lobo men's basketball and was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers.  Emily's favorite past time was attending all sporting events and other activities of her grandchildren. She was a member of San Felipe de Neri parish. Emily was an amazing role model and will be missed by all.

Emily was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gabriel "Garb" Marquez; sons, Louie Martinez and Gabriel "Gabe" Marquez, Jr., and daughter Michelle "Shelley" Marquez.  She is survived by her daughter, Paula Armijo; granddaughter, Monette Vezelici; grandsons, Marcus, Dominic, Robert and Adan Armijo; great-grandsons, Gabriel Martinez-Perales, Estevan Vezelici and Diesel Armijo; great-granddaughters, Shania, Ashley and Alexandra Vezelici; great-great grandchildren, Ezio Martinez and Zaniya Vezelici and sisters, Isabel Brito (Abraham) and Mercy Aragon.

Cremation has taken place and services are pending.
