Jean Bash was born on June 18, 1951, in Carrizozo, NM., to G.B.  "Jiggs" and Ella Sidwell. Jean passed peacefully on July 14, 2025, at her home in Sandia Park, NM., surrounded by her loved ones.

Jean lived life full throttle and blazed her own trail.

She had a bigger than life personality and touched many, many, lives. Jean was a devoted Mother, Wife, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt, and friend. Her independence, courage, and compassion will leave a lasting legacy. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings Betty Hobbs, Richard, Jerry, and Leroy Sidwell.

She is survived by her husband James Holt; son Jesse Bash (Bethany) and their sons Isaac and Victor; brother Tom Sidwell (Mimi); sister Widge Ruiz (Pete); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jean was a caring and nurturing bonus Mom and Mema to all of us. She was also survived by her stepchildren of 30 years, Jerry Holt, Victor Holt, Robert Holt, James Holt, Jessica Melger and Shiree Cano. She was Mema to Matthew and Mahalah Holt, Adam Holt, Justin Holt, and Raven Nichols and great grandmother to Ezekiel and Eziyah. We will forever be grateful for her and continue her legacy and lessons in homesteading and taking care of the love of her life.
