Elizabeth D. "Liz" Otero passed away on February 22, 2026. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Liz is survived by her beloved daughter, April Wilson and her husband Vince; her cherished grandson, Frankie Wilson, who brought immense joy to her life; her brother, Sam Chavez and his wife Veronica; and her loyal pet dog, Stich. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 35 years, Frank Otero; her parents, David A. and Margaret Chavez; and her brothers, Roland Chavez and Edward Chavez, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Liz had a deep love for music and concerts, and she treasured the memories made at live events with family and friends. She was a dedicated Raiders fan and also enjoyed cheering on the Atlanta Hawks. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandson, creating special moments that will live on in the hearts of those she loved. Liz also had a great love for animals, always opening her heart to them.

She will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, her loyalty, and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 9502 Fourth St. NW,
