Edward Espinosa (baptized Eduardo Espinosa) passed away at South Valley Care Center on October 29, 2020 at the age of 93.

He was preceded in death by his longtime companion and love, Lenora Bush; his parents, Lucinda (Cisneros) and Jose Espinosa; his brothers, Gilbert Espinosa,  Frank Espinosa and wife Vivian; his sisters, Ernestine McNelly and Charlotte Espinosa.

Edward is survived by his sisters, Victoria and husband Rudy and Mary Espinosa as well as many nephews, nieces, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him.

Mr. Espinosa was born in La Garita, Colorado. He attended Albuquerque High School in Albuquerque, NM with some University post-secondary education which was disrupted by his enrollment in the Army.  He was a long-time resident of Belen, New Mexico, a craftsman by trade and a boxer during his younger years.

Edward Espinosa served in the United States Army First Calvary division during the Korean War as a Private First Class, where he received numerous commendations, including the Combat Infantry Badge.  PFC Espinosa was honorably discharged in 1952, after being wounded during the Korean War.  He received commendation letters from US Representative John Dempsey and US Senator Dennis Chavez for his honorable service. He was known for his ready smile and lyrical singing by the residents and caregivers at South Valley Care Center. He will be missed greatly by family and friends. Rest In Peace Eddie.

Us Army PFC Edward Espinosa will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with US Army Honors in a private family ceremony.
