Obituary

Eddie Papa Garcia, age 90, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28th, 2023. Eddie was born on February 6th, 1933. He was raised in Los Duranes and lived all his life in the North Valley before moving to Bernalillo after the death of his wife, Gloria. Eddie was a strong spirit, outliving all of his siblings and many many good friends.  Eddie was a US Army Veteran who honorably served his country and who loved life.  He was talented at home building, plastering and laying tile.  He loved the great outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting, spending time bird watching in his garden and cooking his famous carne adovada ribs and sopapillas.  Eddie had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories of all his adventures in life and his time stationed in Alaska.  He has been reunited in Heaven with his wife, Dolores Gloria; his sons, Frank and Richard La Grange, Mark Garcia, Chris Garcia and daughter Edwina LaGrange. He leaves behind his children, Ancilla Quintana, Edward Garcia Jr, Yvonne and husband Mike Montano, Lupe and husband Charles Chavez; his grandchildren, Richard Marquez, Melissa and husband Darryl McElwee, John Christopher Quintana, Michael Mikey Montano, Gabrielle Marquez and husband Michael Thompson, Eddie III and wife Marla Garcia, Frank and wife Amanda Quintana, Sophia Montano, Daniel Quintana, Makaila Quintana and Emilee Chavez; his great grandchildren, Rashaun LaGrange, Isaiah LaGrange, Audrey Smith, Natalie Marquez, Brooklynn Garcia, Leah Martinez, Frankie Quintana, Mariah Brown, Kylie Marquez, Maryah McElwee, Samantha Brown, Gibson Garcia, Josiah McElwee, Lucas Quintana and Logan Quintana also survive.

Eddie was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all. He always loved joking about running up a mountain; so now papa run free and try to avoid the cactus.

Cremation has taken place by Direct Funeral services. No services have been planned at this time.  We would like to thank his Hospice team Gail, Ervin, Pastor Mark, Denise and Samantha for helping take such good care of him.
