Dora C
Moya
Jan 5, 1936 — May 30, 2026
Albuquerque
Dora C. Moya was born on January 5, 1936, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 30, 2026, surrounded by her family. Dora was preceded by death by her parents, Tomas and Amelia Garcia; husband, Ernesto Moya; daughters, Amelia and Antoinette; sons, Lawrence and Rodney; brother, Higinio and by her sister, Audelina.
Dora is survived by her daughter, Rosita Herrera; husband Rick; her sons, Gene wife Diana, Santiago wife Berna, Franko wife Kathleen, Raymond Moya and son in law, Michael Atler.
Ernesto and Dora were married for 57 wonderful years, and together with her husband, built not only a home, but a life full of love, hard work, and lasting memories. Their home was a place of warmth, welcome, and family, and it stood as a reflection of the strength of their partnership and commitment to one another.
She believed deeply in God and lived her faith every day. Attending daily Mass was an important part of her life, and her faith gave her strength, guidance, and peace.
One of the greatest blessings of her life was her family. She leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, each one a living part of her legacy. Her love reached across generations, and her presence gave all of us a sense of belonging, comfort, and home.
For me, one of the most special gifts was spending everyday with her Franko and Raymond over coffee. Those daily moments together may have seemed simple, but they were filled with love, conversation, and connection. They are memories I will carry in my heart always, and I will miss them more than words can say.
We will miss having posole at Easter, our yearly Thanksgiving gatherings, posole Christmas Eve and her famous macaronis. She was such a great cook, and she had a special way of bringing people together through the meals she made. Her food was more than something we shared, it was a part of her love, her care, and the memories we will hold close forever.
Doras's life was a blessing. She taught us the value of faith, family, loyalty, and love. Though we grieve her loss, we are also grateful for the example she gave us and for the many memories she leaves behind. We will remember her in our prayers, in our homes, in our family gatherings, and in the quiet moments when we feel her love still with us. Rest in peace, Dora. You will always be loved, and you will never be forgotten.
