In Loving Memory of Donna Mae Aguilar (Green)

September 10, 1944 - June 10, 2025

Donna Mae Aguilar (Green), passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Barquist, son-in-law, Terry and grandson, Adison Barquist, of Longmont Colorado; her brother, Larry Green of Jacksonville, NC and sister, Ginger Whitley and Steve Roake of Albuquerque, NM. Donna had one daughter and one grandson, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and great nieces and nephews, which she loved dearly.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Fern Little; father, Ell Lawrence Green and stepfather, Vernon Ray Poston.

She worked many years as a bookkeeper and secretary. Donna began a career in dance when she started working for Kay Windsor Dance Studios in Albuquerque. She worked in the office, front desk and began teaching and taking ballet, tap and jazz classes. She coordinated all the dance recitals with the costumes, stage lighting, music and props. She worked there many years and loved her career.

Donna then opened her own dance studio on 4th Street in Albuquerque called Stage Crafts Dance Studio. She loved having her own studio. She offered all types of classes including karate. The students participated in recitals and karate tournaments all over the state. Many times if her students didn't have the tuition, she let them have class for free. After several years, she retired and sold the studio.

She had many hobbies especially music. She taught herself to play the drums and was in a small band. Donna loved woodworking and made many things for her friends and family. She never met a stranger and was very kind and giving. Donna especially enjoyed the family and friends monthly birthday luncheons.

She loved animals, especially cats. She made sure all the cats in the neighborhood were fed. She will be loved and missed by her family and all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the many caretakers for being so caring and kind to Donna. You all are truly appreciated.
