Dennis W. Smith, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on August 29, 1950, Dennis leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Dennis will be deeply missed by his loved ones.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Loretta Smith; his daughters, Tania Serrano and Dennise Smith; his step-mother, Sally Smith; his sisters, Sharon Foster, Sandra Jillson, Cheryl Smith; his grandchildren, Rosalinda Serrano, Jazmine Guerra, Frankie Guerra and Francesca Guerra, and by his great-granddaughter, Donna Serrano. Dennis was a beloved uncle, friend, and mentor to many.

Dennis found great joy in his role as a grandfather, known as "Grandpa" and "Bird." He had a passion for his work in the bread industry, where he earned the nickname "Bread Man" for his dedication and warmth towards his colleagues and customers. In his free time, Dennis enjoyed sharing his wisdom with those willing to listen, fishing and spending peaceful moments at Elephant Butte with family and friends. He had a sharp wit and a teasing nature, endearing him to all who knew him.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Dennis will remember him for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. He will be forever cherished and greatly missed.

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Mozelle Bradey; his father, Harold Smith, and by his step-fathers, John Chapman and Chet Bradey.

A service to celebrate Dennis's life will be held on Wednesday, March 13th , 2024 at 10:00 am at Legacy Church - East Campus, located at 4701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
