Obituary

Dennis Lynn Kerby, age 74, of Rio Rancho, NM, went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2026.

He was born on December 25, 1951, in Miami, Oklahoma to A.E. and Arlene Kerby.

Dennis proudly served his country from 1970-1974 in the U.S. Air Force. It was there, while stationed in Albuquerque, NM, that he met his bride of almost 55 years, June.

Dennis and June were married on January 8, 1972 in Albuquerque, NM. He was the most remarkable husband, always putting her before himself. They had two daughters together, Amy and Michelle, who always looked up to him as an example of how to live a Christ centered life. His four grandchildren, Shane, Mason, Madisyn and Brea adored him.

Over the years, Dennis worked for the city of Albuquerque, the US Postal Service, and started up his own upholstery shop in the garage. He made friends no matter where he worked, and was diligent to keep relationships going that he made at each job. People were very important to him.

Dennis is survived by his devoted, loving wife June; two daughters Amy Padilla and husband Hollis and Michelle Lambert and  husband Tim. He leaves behind four precious grandchildren; Shane, Mason and Brea Padilla and Madisyn Lambert, who he saw as some of his biggest blessings. He is also survived by his brothers David Kerby (Beverly), Richard Kerby (Kelli), Larry Kerby; sisters Joyce Payton, Linda Kerby and Paula Davis (Fred); Brother in laws Mark Murray (Karli) and Brian Murray (Grace); and sister in law, Peggy Langdon (Pat); as well as many other family and friends, who will miss him greatly.

He always had a hobby of some kind going on, his most recent ventures included antique clock repair and penny collecting. He enjoyed doing patient, calm activities that kept his mind sharp.

Always ready to share wisdom without judging, he was an incredible godly husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, co-worker and friend.
