Dennis Wayne Bass, 73, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 11:30 am, surrounded by family at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He was born in Hickman, Kentucky on February 8, 1947 to Wanda and James Bass.  He was the eldest of five and, above all else, he loved his family.

Dennis Wayne saw a lot of the world in his lifetime, whether through his music career or through his truck driving career.  Music was his first love and he shared that love his whole life.

He was a husband, a father, a brother, and a great musician with a great sense of humor, and he will always be remembered.  Dennis Wayne leaves behind a legacy of music and of love.

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Height Bass and by his father, James Dennis Bass.  He is remembered and missed by his wife of 32 years, Clara Bass; daughter, Shavonne Loomis and husband Adam; son, Brian Bass; daughter, Amy Sanders and husband Brad; step-daughter, Rose Banueloz and husband Frank; step-daughter, Angie Simmons and husband Roger; step-son, Danny Romero and wife Monica; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Debbie Laster and husband Charles and family; brother, Terry Bass and wife Peggy and family; sister, Joanne Holland and family; sister, Nan Harpole and family; and countless friends and fans around the country.

A small memorial will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 9:00 am at his home in Albuquerque.  A memorial in Hickman, Kentucky will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society and listen to his music, which can be found on YouTube if not in your personal collection.  We are heartbroken, but know that he's jamming with the greats now.  He will never be forgotten.
