In Loving Memory of
Demetrio and Martha Montano
Martha M. Montano, age 80, went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 15, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Demetrio G. Montano. Demetrio and Martha Montano were born on October 15, 1940 and 1943, respectively. They were married on September 24, 1960 and celebrated 60 years of marriage before Demetrio Montano passed on December 5, 2020. We celebrate the lives of these two very special people who were the backbone of our Montano family. Demetrio's career was as a Plasterer where he was known to most as Mr. Clean. His hobbies included camping, fishing and hunting. Martha Montaño, we called the bionic woman. She could do anything she set her mind to do. Demetrio and Martha together took part in building their beautiful home in Los Ranchos where all of us loved to gather. Martha also loved camping, fishing and sewing. She loved her dog Sophia and more recently her grand dog who we called her service dog, little Sophia. Demetrio was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his sister, Nelda Garcia. Martha Montano was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and a sister. Demetrio and Martha are also survived by their twin sons, Paul Montano and his wife, Pauline; Peter Montano and his wife, Barbara; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss them. We trust and believe that one day we will be reunited with them, but until then, we will treasure the many memories we have of our brother-sister-grandpa-grandma-Dad and Mom.
There will be a celebration of the lives of Demetrio and Martha Montano at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church located at 9502 Fourth Street, NW, in Albuquerque, NM 87114, on Friday, October 4, 2024. The Rosary will be recited at 8:00 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow. Burial will then take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd, NE, Albuquerque, NM. The family of Demetrio and Martha Montano invite you to a reception following the burial at the Nativity Catholic Church Family Center.
