David Charles Kastning was born in Gallup, New Mexico, May 27, 1948 to parents Joseph Kastning Sr. and Mary-Jane Kastning, whom preceded him in death. He passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

David graduated from Valley High School 1966 and enlisted in the US Army where he Honorably served his country from 1967-1971.

After his Honorable discharge from the Army, David obtained training in welding,  attained a career at PNM Gas Company, where he retired from, and later continued working at Home Depot because of his love for tools. As well, he enjoyed watching football, doing yardwork, fixing things around the house and being with family.

David leaves behind his wife, Carol Kastning (Briggs); two daughters, Jane Maharaj and Orlena Kastning; two brothers, Joseph Kastning Jr. and Robert Larry Kastning.

Private family services will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on June 16, 2021.
