Daniel Brian Jackson Jr.

September 25, 1983 - October 9, 2025

Daniel Brian Jackson Jr., 42, of Anthony, New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, October 9th, 2025.

He was born in El Paso, Texas in 1983 to Irma Colquitt-Parker and participated in many activities growing up such as martial arts, Boy Scouts and playing varsity football in high school. Daniel attended Cathedral High School before joining the Army as a PFC, Private First Class, becoming a mechanic with the Big Red One 1st Infantry Division and doing several tours abroad.

Daniel was preceded in death by Fermin Ruiz, Maggie and Manuel Ruiz and by his grandfather, Prescott Colquitt. Daniel is survived by his mother, Irma; siblings, Pati, Brandan and Zackariah; stepfather, Michael; stepsister, Natasha; his grandmother, Amelia; his nieces and nephew, and extended family near and far.

A Viewing for Daniel will be held on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Cremation will take place and the burial will be at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery with US Army Honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Bob Woodruff Family Foundation, or any charity benefiting veterans and their well-being, of your choice, in Daniel's name would be greatly appreciated.
