Dale R. Prairie, age 70, of Bernalillo, New Mexico, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Dale was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Leonard F. Prairie and Lala Rinaldi on September 7th, 1953. Dale attended grade school in Bernalillo followed by graduating college at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Mr. Prairie married Becky Prairie on April 18th, 1980 in Bernalillo. Dale worked for the Town of Bernalillo as the City Councilman for a total of 23 years ranging from 1994 to 2024.

Dale was a devoted son, brother, father and grandfather. No one who met Dale Prairie forgot his infectious passion for painting houses, walking, watching sports, playing cards with friends, and spending time with his family. Dale will be forever remembered for his love and devotion to his community and his beloved Town of Bernalillo. Dale will be deeply missed, and his memory will remain in the hearts of his friends, family, and all who knew him. We will truly miss you dad/gramps/papa.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Leonard F. Prairie; his sister, Sharron Prairie and by his brother, Garry Rinaldi. Dale is survived by his spouse, Becky Prairie; their three children, Gerred and his wife Amanda, Jesus and his wife Audra and Clorice and her husband James; his siblings, Abram Prairie, Leonard Prairie, Geoff Rinaldi, Luan Korteling, Phuong Lameria, Duc Prairie, Aurthur Prairie, Noelle Prairie and Jeanett Prairie; his mother, Lala Rinaldi, and by his grandchildren, Gabriel, Alexis, Gigi, IsaBella and Nehemiah Prairie.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, New Mexico on Saturday, September 7, 2024. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. A private family interment will take place at a later time.

Dale's pallbearers are Anthony Chavez, Zachary Chavez, Iram Armendariz, Ralph Chavez, Ernie Salazar, Vivian Valdez and Gabriel Prairie.
