Clara Louise Martinez was born on January 8, 1956. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque's North Valley, Clara passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Clara will be remembered for her love of sports, puzzles, sudoku, and for always watching games of any kind. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo and loved music, especially listening to the Bee Gees. Most of all, Clara loved spending time with her treasured family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Inez Baca, and by her siblings, Robert, Sophie, Louie, and Andy.
Clara is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Larry in the family home in the North Valley; six children, Larry Martinez Jr., Jeanelle Rodriguez and husband Julian, Jessica Martinez, Augie Martinez, Steven Martinez and Antonio Martinez all of Albuquerque; eleven grandchildren, Julia, Sophia, Analeia, Isabella, Janae, Ariel, Felipe, Francisco, Renae, Elena and Vincent; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends who loved and will miss her greatly.
Services will be held at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St Josephs Dr NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The visitation will begin at 8:00 am. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am. The burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:15. PM.
Pallbearers will be Andres Baca, Louie Paul Baca, Phillip Baca, Julian Baca, David Garcia, Timo Delgado, Richard Sisneros, and Raymond Sisneros.
