Cipriana "Cippi" Chavez of Albuquerque passed away on October 4, 2022 at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Chavez; her parents Miguel and Antonia Montoya; and her brother, Joe Montoya.

She leaves behind her son, Gilbert Chavez Jr; her daughter, Debbie Boyd; grandsons, Jarrod Boyd, Shane Boyd; great-grandson, Breck Boyd; and also her brothers and sisters, Jim, Rudy, Mike, and Louie Montoya, and Emily, Ida, and Mary.

Cippi was a well known hairdresser and shop owner for over 50 years and had many lifelong customers and friends. She and her husband Gilbert had many friends from St. Francis where they both attended elementary school and were also members of Albuquerque High School Alumni.

A Rosary will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 9:00am followed by funeral mass at 9:30am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church 820 Broadway Blvd SE. Burial immediately following at Mt Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith NE. Pallbearers are Jim Montoya, Louie Montoya, Augie Chavez, Charlie Aragon, Chester Henson, and John Baca. Reception at the St. Francis parish hall after the burial.
