Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Charles Kenneth "Rocky" Medina

Beloved Father, Grandfather, Veteran, and Friend

1949 – 2025

Charles Kenneth Medina, known by loved ones as "Rocky," passed away at the age of 75. He was a proud Vietnam veteran, a devoted father and grandfather, and a man who left a mark on every person lucky enough to cross his path.

At 18 years old, Rocky answered the call to serve his country in the Us Army with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. He served with bravery and grit, carrying those experiences with him throughout his life. But while he was proud of his service, Rocky was just as proud of the life he built afterward; one defined by humor, generosity, and a stubborn determination to do things his own way and never quit.

Rocky was the loving father of Matthew Medina and Pammala Wynn; the grandfather of three, Nialín Perez, Matthew Medina and Mariah Medina.

To his family, he wasn't just a parent or grandparent, he was a protector, a teacher, and often the one making everyone laugh when they needed it most.

He was known for having the biggest heart, a sharp wit, and no patience for nonsense. Rocky said what he meant, meant what he said, and lived life on his terms. His presence filled every room, his stories could captivate anyone, and his love for family and friends was strong and everlasting.

Services will be held to honor Rocky's life at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 N Plaza St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104 on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. The interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501 at 1:30 pm, with US Army Honors bestowed, in recognition of his service

Rocky leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and always celebrated.
