Cecilia Herrera

July 21, 1929 - December 3, 2021

Cecilia Herrera, age 92, passed away in her home in Carnuel (Albuquerque), New Mexico on Friday, December 3, 2021, in the care of her loving family, following a Stroke. She was a member of the Holy Child Catholic Parish in Tijeras, New Mexico.

Cecilia enjoyed attending the Tijeras Senior Citizens Center, Casinos, solving Word Search Puzzles and most importantly spending time with her family.

Cecilia is preceded in death by her husband, Fermin Herrera, Sr.; her parents, Jacobita and Jose Antonio Garcia and several siblings.

Cecilia was the most loving, caring and giving individual and will continue to be loved, cherished and missed by her 13 daughters and sons: Della (Ernie) Ulibarri, Magdalene Miranda, Ellen (Charles) Sanchez, MaryAnne (James) Lucero, Lidia Baca, Sandra (Ronnie) Martinez, Jeanette (Anthony) Rael, Julia Valerio, Fermin (Maxine) Herrera, Jr., Margaret (James) Ramirez, Joe Herrera, Everard John (Denise) Herrera and Kimberly (Ronnie) Jaramillo; sister Ernestine (Max) DuBoisterre; 31 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and several relatives; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her.

Services will be held at Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, New Mexico on Thursday, December 16, 2021, beginning with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.  A Celebration of Life Reception will follow at the Canon de Carnue Land Grant Hall.  Cecilia will be laid to rest on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico with her husband, Fermin.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jonathan Herrera, Damian Lucero, Vincent Mendoza, Fermin Herrera III, Matthew Rael and Jeremiah Herrera.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the remaining grandsons.
