Cecilia Fernandez was born November 14, 1941, in Cuervo, New Mexico. She went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the age of 82, peacefully surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Cecilia "Cecil" married her best friend Manuel Fernandez on May 29, 1965, and started a family soon after. She was fortunate to be a stay-at-home wife and mom, which she loved and cherished every moment she had with her 5 children, Robert "Juan", Julie, Jenin, Jesse, and Josie. Cecilia was very active, she loved to paint, dance, garden, clean, and cook for all. The Fernandez home was always known as the go to home for great food and love.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved to recite her prayers, sing and especially loved spending time with her treasured family. She had so much love for all that came into her life. She would always end her time with you with a hug, kiss and saying, "I love you with all of my heart". God and her family were her everything. She had been an active member of San Jose Parish for several years before her illness kept her homebound. Cecilia will be missed by many and will be forever in our hearts for the loving, sweet, gentle, and kind person she was to all. She is no longer suffering and is with her Jesucristo. Cecilia loved and adored hummingbirds so if ever you see one, know she is near and surrounding us with her presence.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Sisneros; her father, Ramon Sisneros;  and by her four brothers, Joe, Jerry, Larry and Dennis Sisneros.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel Fernandez; son, Robert "Juan" Fernandez and spouse Errol Mascareno; daughter, Julie Astorga and husband Ivan Astorga; daughter, Jenin Fernandez; son, Jesse Fernandez and wife Darlene Fernandez; daughter, Josie Gonzales and husband Richard Gonzales; 12 grandchildren, Clyde and Fiancé Josh, Savanna and husband Dustin, Felisha, Cecilia "Cece" Jaslynn and husband Michael, Elijah and Fiancé Michelle, Ivan Jr, Jeslene, Isaiah, Andres, Destiny, and Alayah; 9 great-grandchildren, Kira, Da'Narius, Dalaysia, Marianna, Mathias, Elijah, Myla, Elianna, and Rosalia; as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss her greatly.

Services will be held at San Jose Parish, 2401 Broadway Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102 on Thursday, February 1, 2024. The Viewing will begin at 11:00 am. The Rosary will be recited from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm with Mass to be celebrated from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Reception will then follow from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, 2121 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.

The pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Clyde, Dustin, Elijah, Ivan Jr, Isaiah, and Michael.
