In Loving Memory of

Brett Anthony Booth

December 29,  1988 - May 9, 2024

During the wee hours of the morning on Thursday, May 9th, 2024, at 1:52 AM MST, Brett passed away at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho, NM after a short battle with liver cancer. Brett was tragically only 35 years old.

Brett Booth was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico during the 5th hour of the morning on December 29, 1988 as part of a two-for-one special. He was the third child, and first son, of Vicki Jane Goss and Anthony Keith Booth, Jr.

He had a difficult start to life. Plagued by heart issues from birth, he had multiple major surgeries before he even graduated high school. At 21 he became a heart transplant recipient. However, he refused to let that define him as a person or hold him back from living as fulfilling of a life as possible.

His childhood was spent forging bonds and making memories with his siblings, whether we were watching the same movies a hundred times or fighting while he beat our ass at video games. He easily made friends wherever he ended up, amassing a large group of people he loved that loved him back, as evidenced by the huge outpouring of love and support for him during this difficult time. He graduated from Rio Rancho High School in 2007 and went on to graduate from WyoTech two years later trained as a diesel mechanic. He soon after discovered that his dreams lay on a different path, so he didn't pursue that career professionally.

Brett was far and away the funniest person most people knew. He was always quick with a joke and loved to make people laugh, almost as much as he loved cocaine (kidding, of course.) He was intelligent, genuine, an attentive listener, honest, and easily made people from all walks of life feel welcome to share their troubles. He was also nice enough to cart around his twin for years when she couldn't drive.

He was very passionate about all forms of pop culture: movies, television/anime, documentaries, video games, music, and of course, dank memes. His tastes were many and varied, but he was a particular fan of Godzilla, Goku, Luigi, Batman, the Ninja Turtles, and Raichu. His favourite movie was Terminator 2: Judgement Day, proving that sometimes sequels are better. Like all his siblings, he was an equal opportunity animal lover, but was especially fond of all sharks.

On par with his love of media was his appreciation of cars and ships, both cosmic and nautical. Even better if we're talking iconic movie vehicles! His own cherished vehicles were his yellow Tiburon and his custom Range Rover in British Racing Green. He loved music in general, but had a special appreciation for rock and hip-hop, both modern and the classics. In recent years, he had discovered a love of cooking, and enjoyed sharing his dishes with both family and friends alike, much to everyone's benefit.

He was preceded in death by both biological grandmothers, his Aunt Lori, Great Aunts Loretta and Shirley, and Great Uncle Kenny, as well as a small group of personal friends he held dear, including Robin Bradstreet, and Tom Melloy.

He is survived by his beloved senior kitty Baragon, both grandfathers, his parents, Uncle Don, Aunt Leslie, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Hayley, older sister Marla Fiadh, twin sister Bradleigh Snowfyre, younger brother Gavin Garcia, nibling Omen Acton, best friends Zachary Aquino and Benjamin Baird, as well as multiple well-loved cousins.

His Going Away Party will be held on 6/9 at 4:20 PM MST, at Regal UA Cottonwood Stadium 16, Theatre 15. Doors open at 4, but the service starts at 4:20 so please arrive early. If you have further questions about the service, please contact Marla at (505) 414-4367 (text preferred).

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Watermelon Mountain Ranch where he got his beloved old man cat. A special thank you to all medical staff involved in his care during this horrible ordeal.
