Betty Louise Lovering died peacefully in her sleep January 26, 2025 after celebrating her 96th birthday with family and friends. She was born on January 25, 1929 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Harold Bailey Nesbitt and Eva Victoria Hall. Later she moved to Belleville, Ontario during WWII while her father was serving in the Canadian military in England. Soon after graduating from Belleville High School, she moved to Eugene, Oregon. There she met her lifelong friend, Beth Coleman Sparks. Through her she met G.H. (Hal) Coleman, to whom she was married for more than 27 years. They lived at several Air Force bases while he was in pilot training. After that, they resided in Mobridge, South Dakota where they raised their four children. During those years, she was active in the community, and in 1964 was named the city's Outstanding Young Woman. In 1976 Betty relocated to Albuquerque where she spent the remainder of her life. She worked as an administrator for the Soil Conservation Service for 20 years. After retiring, she worked temporary jobs and volunteered at the Old Town Visitor Center. While in Albuquerque she married Otho Lovering in 1986. They enjoyed skiing and traveling together. After Otho's death in 2015, she continued to travel on her own, and enjoyed mother-daughter trips with her lifelong friends Frankie Dupper and Sally Wharton. Ann Lehman was another favorite travel partner. Betty had many friends in her townhome neighborhood and enjoyed being the activity director there. She loved playing bridge and had wonderful friends in her groups. Betty had a warmth and kindness that drew others to her. She loved the little things in life like crossword puzzles, Cheetos, Manhattans, sunbathing, and snuggling with her cats. Her life exemplified generosity, caring, and joyful living. Both her parents and eldest son David Patrick predeceased her. She is survived by Nancy Beth Coleman (Joel Rife), Stephen Scott Coleman (Dianna), Linda Gail Hobson (TC), grandchildren Rita Kathleen Gray (Derek), Garrett Adam Fowles (Stephanie), three great-grandchildren, all of Albuquerque, and step-son Otho Scott Lovering (Beth) of Denver.
