Bessie Herrera, 64, passed away Friday January 7, 2022. She was born and raised in Carnuel, New Mexico.

Bessie will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt and friend.

Bessie worked at Presbyterian Hospital for 45 years and started her career as a Key Punch Operator. She became the Lead Operator, and later promoted to Supervisor of Data Entry and the Data Center and finally rounded out her career as an IT Configuration Analyst. Bessie retired March of 2021.

Bessie Loved all of her pets especially Morty and also her family and friends pets. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, liked arts and crafts and trying her luck at Bingo and at the Casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustine and Stella Herrera; sisters, Vivian Barela Salcido and Yvonne Garcia and by her brother Sammy Herrera.

Bessie is survived by her brother, Jerry Herrera and wife Isabel; her lifelong partner of 41 years, Perfecto Sonny Maez II; numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her greatly.

Services will be held at Saint John XXIII Catholic Church in Albuquerque on Friday, February 4, 2022. A Rosary will be recited on at 10:00 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the New Carnuel Cemetery.
