Bernie Sanchez of Albuquerque NM passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 with her sons at her side.

Bernie was born on October 8, 1930 in Manzano, NM.  Bernie married her late husband Moises Sanchez, Sr. on June 26, 1954.

She was an active parishioner of St. Annes Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM.

She was at stay at home mother raising their six sons.  She enjoyed cooking their after school treats.  She enjoyed her Saturdays at the flea market selling with her late husband Moises Sr, and their Sunday afternoon matinees.

Bernie is preceded in death by her husband Moises Sanchez Sr.; stillborn son John Sanchez; daughter in law Frances Sanchez; siblings Gregorio, Refugio, Balentin Griego and Connie Chavez all of Albuquerque.

Bernie Sanchez is survived by her six sons Chris, Mike (Caroline), Moises Jr (Jane), Robert (Patricia), Ricky and Mark Sanchez; As well as her six grandchildren Christopher, Danielle, John, James, Miranda, and Sela; and seven great grandchildren Edward, Charlie, Faith, Jordan, Zion, Luciano and Casper.

A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 8:15 am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:00 a.m. at St. Annes Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW, Albuquerque. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren John, James, Edward Sanchez and Carlos, Matt and Charlie Chavez.

A gathering will be held following burial at:
