Barbara Ann Ahern, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York on January 12, 1948 to Gloria and Thomas Lahey. Getting the experiences of life Barbara had the opportunity to live in a few different states before settling in New Mexico in her 30s, where she remained till her death. Being a proud New Yorker, she was always a strong person who had a fiery determination that was hard to get in the way of. Not a force to be reckoned with she was the definition of "Mess around and find out" till the end. She was always an honest person and prided herself on being so. She loved those close to her deeply and with the fiery passion that matched her fighting spirit. She was also a devout catholic, The Lord took Barbara into his hands on Sunday, May the 4, 2025 in the late evening.

She is preceded in death by her Mother Gloria Esposito; Father Thomas Lahey; sister Patricia McMillan; and brother Gerard Lahey.

She is survived by her only daughter Mary Gutierrez; five grandchildren Madonna, Selena, Nikolas, Gabriel, and Ava; four great-grandchildren Vicente, Desdemona, Mario, and Athena; sister Helen "Terri" Hollan; Bonus Grandchildren Little Nicholas, Zachariah and Destiney; several nieces, nephews and numerous "adopted daughters" that she met along her journey here and that she loved dearly.

A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 10:00 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at  11:45 am at Vista Verde Memorial Park.
