Ausencio Martinez, 77, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico and formerly of Tucumcari, New Mexico for 32 years, passed away on April 14, 2023.

Ausencio, know to everyone as "Little Horse", was born to Horacio and Epifania Martinez on November 15, 1945, in Mexico City.  He was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and pursued a career as a truck driver, retiring from Consolidated Freightways (CF).

Little Horse is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Helen; their infant daughter Maria Esperanza and beloved canine companion Snow.

Little Horse is survived by his daughter Victoria Garcia (Jermaine); stepdaughter Diana Vigil (Tom) and his stepson Andrew Barela (Bernadette); his grandchildren Julian, Lucila Helena, Marisol, Rome and Sabrina.  He is also survived by his nephew Joseph Marroquin (Marcella); niece Stephanie Rael-Escoffier (Robert); sister-in-law Lucy Rael and many other nephews, nieces and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Church, 8301 Camino San Martin SW.  Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE
