Audela C. Fernandez

Born on December 19, 1927, Socorro, New Mexico. Raised in San Antonio New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents Adan and Portana Chavez; husband John H. Fernandez; Sisters Elizabeth Marquez, Tomasita Baca; and brother Anastacio Chavez.

As a teenager her family moved to Albuquerque in the Broadway area.  She graduated from Albuquerque High School, later got a Bachelor's degree from University of New Mexico.  She began working at Hacienda Restaurant in Old Town where she met her love of her life John Fernandez.  Married for 36 years and had three children, Christina (Tina) Anderson Sanchez, husband David Sanchez, son Juan (Denito)Fernandez, wife Rose Fernandez, daughter Stephanie(princess)Martinez, husband Deacon Leonard Martinez. She has 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

Her hobbies include crocheting, knitting and being with her Grandchildren.  She retired from the Gas Company, Hobby Lobby and she also worked as a substitute teacher for A.P.S. . The two things most important in her life was her Faith and her Family. A member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church where at a time was a Spanish Lecter and a member of the Catholic Daughter of America of Mount Carmel. She will be missed and loved by her whole family.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 8:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:00 am Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary church on 4th street and Alameda NW.  Interment will follow at 10:30 am at Mt. Calvary cemetery. A reception will be held following interment at Nativity Church at the Parish Hall.
