Anthony Ray Motto, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026. He was 68 years old.
Anthony will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his amazing wit, and most of all for his caring, generous and giving attitude.
He loved to volunteer and was a devoted member of the Optimist Club of New Mexico where he proudly volunteered for many years helping children and especially supporting the Special Olympics of New Mexico. This was his true passion, volunteering and helping children.
He was a longtime owner, along with his brother Gary, of Motto Brother's Painting. An avid sports fan, Anthony loved the Dallas Cowboys, New Mexico Lobo sports, and the Isotopes.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen and Claudina Motto; brother, Johnny Motto and his sister, Georgeann Abeyta.
He is survived by his loving and devoted partner of 25 years, Liz Blackburn; sisters, Dolores Martinez and Barbara Archibeque both of Albuquerque; brothers, Andy Motto and wife Teresa of Virginia and Gary Motto of Albuquerque; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will remember him in their heart always. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Anthony's life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at American Legion Post 69, 9000 4th Street NW from 11:00 - 2:00. Lunch will be provided. In case more parking is needed, the Polaris business just directly south of the Legion has given permission to use their north fence parking spaces.
