Obituary

On Saturday May 13th, 2023, Angelina C. Zamora was called home to God's kingdom at the age of 86. She was born on December 9th, 1936, in Golden, New Mexico to Catalina Bareras and Bernardo Cano. Angelina grew up in the lush mountains of Jemez, spent time in California then settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was the twelfth child of fourteen siblings. Angelina was the proud mother of ten children, twenty-six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Angelina had many creative hobbies including macrame, crochet, knitting and cooking. She would also make clothes for her daughters. She was always the first one up with a hot cup of coffee and music, sometimes making hot fresh tortillas. If you were near, Angelina would grab you, sing, and start dancing. She worked hard and loved spending time with everyone, including friends and their children. Angelina enjoyed camping and conversing about the bible. She also enjoyed visiting casinos and reading romance novels.

Although she struggled with her health at the end of her life, including losing her vision, Angelina had a joy for life and unwavering faith. If you ever asked her for advice, she would tell you to simply pray. She was a God-fearing woman who did her best to raise her children to live honestly and morally right.
