Andrew James Lucero, born on August 18, 1975, left this world on June 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his community. Andrew's life was a testament to the power of compassion and the impact that one individual can have on others.

Andrew earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Highlands University, which laid the foundation for his career as a social worker. He dedicated his professional life to helping adjudicated youth, working tirelessly with organizations such as Serenity Mesa and La Plazita. His work was not just a job; it was a calling. Andrew's colleagues often spoke of his natural leadership and his remarkable ability to secure grants, ensuring that these vital programs could continue to serve the community.

Known for his undying love for the Raiders, Andrew's passion for his favorite team was matched only by his enthusiasm for dancing. Whenever he heard a song he loved, he would be the first to hit the dance floor, bringing joy and energy to everyone around him.

Andrew's heart was as expansive as his love for life. He never met a stranger; everyone he encountered became a friend. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always the first to offer help to those in need. His family was his greatest treasure, and he adored his sister, his six children, his three grandchildren, and his two stepsisters.

Andrew is preceded in death by his father Andy, grandparents Leo and Louisa Lucero, Tio Michael Lucero, grandmother Fela, and his mother Bonnie. Their spirits live on in the enduring love and memories that Andrew cherished.

Andrew's absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit continues to inspire all who knew him. He lived life to the fullest, and his legacy of kindness, leadership, and love will forever be remembered.

A rosary will be recited on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 9:00 am, with a funeral mass to follow at 9:30 am to honor and celebrate his life.  Both services will take place at St Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 3424 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
