Obituary

Amir Azad Azimi went to be with Lord December 26, 2021 at the age of 72 years. He was born in Tehran, Iran. Amir was a kind and joyous soul. He was loving and tender. He was full of life and had an adventurous spirit. His charismatic story telling captivated every room. His laugh was infectious and his sense of humor captured everyone's heart. Amir did not collect things, he collected people. He loved and valued his friends and family with all his heart. He was invested in those he loved, they were his treasures.

Amir is survived by his wife Rini Azimi of Albuquerque, his son Steve Azimi, his son Robbie Azimi and his two children RJ Azimi and his wife Ari Azimi and his daughter Nicole Christiansen and her husband Nick Christiansen and their daughters Cheyenne, Iohla and Graycelynn, his brother Mehdi Azimi and his wife Shahnaz Azimi, and his sister Shala Azimi and her children Ali, Abidi and Azadeh.

He loved his wife of 24 years with passion and purpose. They had never-ending love. Amir adored his sister and though they were separated by an ocean, they remained very close. His brother was his hero and bigger than life. His sons were his pride, they were ever present in his thoughts. He had confidence in the men they are, and knew that the world was better because of them, and that they made him a better man.

As a resident of Albuquerque for over 40 years, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved dogs, gardening and cooking. He took up painting in his later years. Amir was an accomplished and well- known hairdresser in the city.

Amir was able to look past life's difficulties through positive thinking and strong faith. In the past few years, his faith in the Lord grew strong and so did his spirit. As hard as it was for the family to endure his suffering, all knew God's love and grace gave him the peace he strength that sustained him. Amir knew God was his eternal hope and that comforted him greatly in his last days.

Amir was admired, loved, respected and he enhanced the lives of everyone he touched. His bright light in this world will live on in each of those he loved. He will be sorely missed. Well done Amir, well done. May you rest in the hands of the Father.

Services will be private, however, a celebration of Amir's life will be held in the spring of 2022. It will be a true celebration and joyful experience with Persian food, Amir's favorite music and sharing of favorites memories and stories of Amir to honor his life.
